Gladys Alanoca
Hello! My name is Gladys. I am from Bolivia. I am a linguistics student, and I am currently developing my thesis on teaching methods tailored to students' needs. I am an open-minded person who has many interests. I really like both teaching and learning languages. Nowadays, I am studying both French and Quechua at the Linguistics and Languages Department of UMSA in La Paz, in addition to teaching Spanish at i.e. I have been a teaching assistant at the university here in La Paz as well. As a result, I recognize how important it is to be not only in the teachers´shoes but also in the students´. Aditionally, I am interested in researching, discussing and improving my English and French by sharing cultural experiences.
Hope to meet you soon!
Gladys
Maritza Griffiths
Hi, my name is Maritza Griffiths. You may be thinking I'm from England or the USA because of my last name, but, if so, you are wrong! I'm from Bolivia. I have a Bachelors Degree in Linguistics and have almost 15 years of experience teaching English in high schools and universities. I have 4 years of experience teaching my own language (Spanish), which I began to teach in a high school in the United States.
I've been working at i.e. teaching Spanish since 2006. I have had good experiences with foreign students who couldn't speak a single word in Spanish, and after 20 to 25 hours of clases with me, they were able to engage in real conversations in Spanish in the present, past and future tenses. I really love teaching languages, and I hope to see you soon!
Milka Peñaranda
Hi, I’m Milka! I am 32 years old, and from Bolivia. I am a linguist, having studied at the Mayor de San Andrés University in La Paz.
I like teaching Spanish because I love both the language and teaching very much. I have been teaching Spanish here at i.e. for 2 years, and I always place a strong emphasis on communication and comprehension, followed by grammar and spelling.
Additionally, I have had the opportunity to help students improve from the intermediate to the superior level for the DELE Spanish exams; it is always a pleasure to witness their achievements.
I am easygoing and I like listening to fusion music, reading and sharing literature with my students too!!!
Natalia Guerra
Hi! I am Natalia but you can also call me Nati. I was born in Argentina, but I have been living in Bolivia almost all my life. Right now, I'm in my last semester of university, studying to get a bachelors degree in Linguistics. Thanks to being able to communicate with other people in different languages such as English, Spanish, German and French, I have learned how important it is to be able to let people know what you want to say or how to express your ideas. Here at i.e., we help you to get to that point, so that you are able to interact and create relationships with people around the world.
Pamela Murillo
Hi, my name is Pamela Murillo. I am from La Paz, Bolivia. I am 24 years old and I have a lovely baby girl. I am a Linguistics student and, for that reason, I had the opportunity to live in the United States for almost three years. During that time I taught Spanish as an intercultural exchange, and I loved doing it. Now I’m here at i.e., doing what I love to do, teaching Spanish. In the classroom, I like to make the student feel comfortable and enjoy the class; I try to find easy, understandable and entertaining ways to make him/her learn, comprehend and communicate in the language. This has proven to be a beneficial method because both the student and the teacher learn a little bit about each other´s culture in addition to the language. Let's learn together! Join me!

Thanks to my job, I've had the opportunity to travel to many countries around the world where I've taught Spanish and learned about other cultures. Teresa Ardaya
Hi, my name is Teresa. I have written for different magazines and newspapers and I also have experience teaching grammar, writing and spelling. I can help you learn Spanish or improve your existing skills in an easy and entertaining way. I usually begin my class by having a short conversation with the student. Then I introduce some grammar rules using the phrases and sentences that the student is able to form by himself, and finally, I focus on practicing through writing, listening or reading activities. I encourage my students to get involved from their very first class, and I really enjoy finding out about their personal interests and motivations. This way, I can focus the teaching process on subjects and situations that are interesting to them.
